Courage

July 11, 2005 – 11:41 am

I read somewhere long ago that courage is not the absence of fear, but feeling the fear and doing the thing we are afraid of anyway.  By this definition, Denise is a true super hero.  Confronting shame represents a fundamental turning point in the lives of transsexual people.

Plus I have a soft spot in my heart for transsexual women, since I think they have a much tougher time of it than transsexual men.

Thank you Denise, for your honesty and compassion.
