Four Eyes for the Queer Guy, Or The Power of Blogging
1.11.2005I don’t believe queer culture is dead. This blog, and Homofactus Press, prove it.
Relying on gay and lesbian media to support trans culture seems wrong-headed. They don’t really understand us. We, in turn, do a terrible job explaining what transsexual issues are.
They then leave us in the cold. We feel hurt. The only difference between a rut and the grave is depth.
Time to break out, forge new ground. CafePress, Lulu and Ning make it possible for anybody to have their own online business. Add some free blogging software and off you go.
The technology is easy. The difficult part? Whether or not you really have something to say.
If you do, then say it with passion and humor and verve. If not, say it anyway.
In the end, the readers decide. Good blog = lots of readers. Good microbrand = lots of sales.
No bullshit. No marketing designed to make you feel like a worthless sexually transmitted crab.
Just words and passion about a life worth living, shared with other folks who care for themselves and the world they live in.
