The Dumbest Thing Said to You, A Tentative List
January 20, 2006 – 2:50 pm[Update 01/20/06: I need your input ranking these comments. I find myself wanting a tie for first place between the "best of both worlds" comments and the "how do you pee?" comments.
Which comment or comments receives your top vote?]
This list is no particular order, yet. And what a list! Number 1? After Jami reminded me about all the stupid "how do you pee" comments, I’ve decided to hold off making "the best of both worlds comment" number 1 just yet……..Pick your favs!
-
"You’re the best of both worlds."
-
"You’ll never be able to ejaculate."
-
"This leg is so hairy it’s hard to believe there’s a pussy at the other end."
-
"Damn, you’re hot, and don’t worry, i go both ways".
-
"my mother preferred boys because she had two sons by her second husband after walking out on my dad, my sister and me."
-
"Do you think you became a woman because you hated your father?"
-
After my best friend from College recently looked thru my baby book; " You looked like the most uncomfortable little boy in a dress…"
-
"So what’s it like? I mean really? Can you, you know, do it with yourself?"
-
"Men cannot breastfeed, period. What do you mean, I’m being transphobic?"
-
Said to person (woman?) dating an FtM: "So, are you gonna start taking birth control pills?"
-
"Take this from a real girl: You all are UGLY, and mean that with a capital U."
-
"I wanted to become a man because I was a tall woman."
-
"How do you pee?"
-
"No shit? Can I see?"
-
"Are you getting a sex change to get your wife back?"
-
"So are you gonna get _the_ surgery?"
-
"Did you go all the way?"

i vote for “best of both worlds” as number one. it’s presumptuous and totally void of any tact. the peeing comment at least shows some level of interest and curiosity.
the “can i see” comment runs a close second in my mind. i mean, would you walk up to a stranger on the street and ask to see their gentials? well, you wouldn’t if you considered them to be human.

“Can I see” reminds me of my sister’s ex, who claimed that if he had a daughter who confided that she was a lesbian, his response would be “Cool! Can I watch?” Some people will treat anything not buttoned-up straight as their own personal freak show.
