Assessments

Assertions are not Assessments

To be perfectly clear statements of opinion are often given as fact. For example, transsexuals are x is often an assessment by a particular person. It is their opinion.

An assertion is a statement of fact, something that can be independently verified.

So when certain people decry that I and my people are x, and then trash my friends who support us, I say, that is merely your assessment. It is not an assertion.

Presenting assessments as assertions is a kind of dishonesty. Feminism is b, Communism is x, Capitalism is y, the origin of the problem is z. Mostly opinions, beloved prejudices. And how hard we fight to keep them. In closing I want to give a special shout to brownfemipower. Just because.
