This blog has been going along for almost four years now. I’ve been told repeatedly I should focus, focus, focus the blog on one topic. That way I’ll get more readers and blah, blah, blah.
Well, for 2010, I’ve decided to NOT change and continue to do what I do best: let this blog reflect my rambling yet obsessive personality. Let you see what a generalist I am.
What does that mean for you, dear reader (all three of you!)?
2010 is the year:
- I really let me passion for trans and queer art and photography shine on this blog. I’m a cartoonist and poster maker and creative soul. I love all the trans/gender queer people around the world creating art. Hopefully you will, too;
I show you my obsessive passion for dressing as a creative outlet. I’ve spent many years and several thousands of dollars tweaking this body of mine. Clothes reflect my soul. Why not let you see that?;for continued growth of Homofactus Press. Critics continue to hate Amazon and bemoan the loss of bookstores while STILL not acknowledging the hidden market potential of readers with visual and cognitive impairments. Who says you can’t create and run a successful, micro-minimalist business with no previous experience in said field? I didn’t let it stop me and you shouldn’t either;
for more minimalism. Minimalmac created within me the urge to clean up the mac we use. This urge has begun a journey of exquisite focus that removes ambiguity (oh, what do I do with this???) with the result that what I have and do are the things and tasks I love. More minimalism means no goals, just better habits; fewer tasks, more do nothing time; family and friends, all through the lens of creating a gentle footprint and reducing the suffering I create in others. (Just how intense is the correlation between too much stuff and the too much accidental suffering we create for others?);
I write about all the beautiful books, art, movies and people (and anything else that crosses my mind) that create in me a desire to be a better human being.
I want to have more fun this year and hope you do, too. I look forward to sharing and learning from you, and remember, the western world’s greatest minds – Da Vinci, Hildegard of Bingen – were generalists! Who’s hipper anyway? Bill Gates or Hildegard?
Regularly scheduled programming begins on January 7, 2010.
Happy New Year!

I love the “don’t specialize” attitude! Can’t wait to keep reading a blog who reflects who you are!
